What should I do?

Hi,

Before I fell pregnant, I was running my own translation and interpreting company from home. It was great and I loved it. I thought that having the baby with me would make things at work easy...errr nope!

Now, after a year a 3 months, I'm at home with my baby while my husband is at work but I can't really do any work. I honestly can't afford a nursery now and was wondering if any of you has been in a similar situation as mine.

I absolutely adore looking after my baby and love every minute with him but as I have no help apart from my husband, I feel that sometimes I could do with a couple of hours doing my job - I guess to distract myself, feel still useful and make money. So, I feel frustrated for not being able to work but at the same time I know I love being with my baby!!! Anybody could think what do I want?

Any ideas????

Thanks a lot!!

P

I don't want to be overly blunt but if the work is still available to you, you simply need to organise your time better. Allocate time when your LO is asleep during the day, allocate time when your partner returns from work, and if necessary organise one day of nursery. I studied and completed a degree when my LO was between 3 and 5. It hurt, I missed a mothers day as i had an essay to finish. Once I completed my degree I decided i didn't want to be tied to a high-flying professional role and so I currently work in admin. In essence, if you feel the urge to work, do!!! Being a stay at home mum was my dream until it materialised and I was shocked at alienated i felt. Good luck to you
