Flexible Working

Just a quick question. I put in a request for Flexible working almost 3 weeks ago and have heard nothing from my employer, i sent it by email but also gave them a original as well. Are they meant to let you know they have received it, i know they get 28 days to arrange a meeting but i have heard nothing

Info on DirectGov website states that your employer is also obliged to confirm receipt of your application.

As they have a week to arrange a meeting or discuss it with you now, since 3 weeks has passed, I suggest you contact HR by phone to confirm they have received it.

Oh and for the record, assuming you haven't previously had a request turned down in the last 12 months, they are obliged to take your request seriously.

I work for a major bus company as a bus driver i am working part time but don't know if my contract has been changed from full time. My husbands company allow him to start at 9 so children go to breakfast club and i start between 5 and 6am so i can finish before 3. Now they have said i can't have an early shift anymore so that i can finish by 3 to do the school run. My facilities are being stopped and i must resume normal contractual duties. Are they making me return full time because this would be impossible as my husband works on weekends and until 10 at night sometimes or are they just stopping my early start. If this is the case it will cost me £64 a week in morning and afternoon club fees out of a £150 wage per week. i'm so stressed and need advice on how to explain how my working pattern will afect my employer and collegues and what i think the effect on collegues and employer can be dealt with. I have worked Monday and Friday for 3 years finishing before 3 pm so they have obviously dealt with it for this long. please help. need to put form in on Monday
