Just to add that after visiting the school, DC loved it and looking forward to it. Have days left to make up my mind and take the plunge. Alternative is struggle through and leave DC in day school with always-changing childcare arrangements(-;

The school is Royal Alexandra and Albert in Gatton Park, Reigate.

Hey

I have no idea about boarding schools myself but my in-laws have sent all of their children from age 8. They appear to really enjoy it and are doing well.

My in-laws fully believe in the system and what it provides for children. So I guess you need to go with what you think is best for your children. I am wondering why you would feel it is a cop-out?

Just wavering really, because I suppose at a real push and stretch I COULD manage, but on the other hand, I'm considering it because I don't think I can. I've posted this somewhere else with about 25 or so responses (thanks MNetters) so please feel welcome to repost. See below for the URL. Thanks!
