My friend used to teach and then left for something unrelated. She now wants to go into childminding/nanny on the basis she has a Teaching qual But I think she may still need other quals Anyone know?

I don't think you need any other qualifications for nannying - but it may be harder to get a job - for childminding you have to have a qualification - although it wouldn't be hard to get if she was a teacher I think - and not that expensisve, and do a fair bit of paper work
there is a childminder/nannies board which had loads of info

It depends what age she wanted to nanny for, if it was newborns they'd expect some newborn experience which you'd not get through teaching.

For childminding, she would work from home and therefore, need to register with ofsted. If nannying then she doesn't need to be registered, but i would imagine without any child health and development training, she would struggle to find work with under 3s.
