Flexible working-employer deadlines

I am after some advice please. I had my flexible working meeting with the head, new head and bursar at my school. My line manager (the deputy head) wasn't there. Very negative lots of cons highlighted when the new head asked what I'd had ie a boy or girl(this was the first time I'd met him) the bursar chipped in that this was baby number3!
Anyway I was told they'd contact me within ten working days.the interview was on a thurs so not including the day of interview I should receive a letter by tomorrow.
If I don't hear from them within the timeframe what are my options ie can I kick up a fuss?

Well yes you can certainly chase them up if they don't get back to you within that timescale. I'd start off doing so nicely though, then you can up the ante a bit if they delay further.

Thanks, I googled something that says if they don't meet their deadlines you can claim compensation (up to 8weeks pay) for failure to follow the correct procedures. I was wondering of anyone had any experience of this. But your advise is prob correct keep things amicable.

Hiya - I've just responded to someone else about this topic over here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/employment_issues/1492320-Please-help-appeal-hearing-for-flex-working-this-week.

You might find the links useful - luckily I didn't have to claim compensation because I won my appeal but if that had been available I would certainly have nailed them for it.

Good luck.
