I've just resigned from my job and don't know what to feel...

After my flexible working request was declined (on pretty spurious grounds), I've just resigned from my job. I knew I would have to do this if they did not agree to my request, but it's still a bit scary.

And now it means that I'm out on my own, self-employed. I have some work at the moment but will have to build up more, do marketing, get clients. All a little scary, but exciting too. I feel ready to take on new professional challenges and this seems to be the best way to do it with a family (after several years of feeling well and truely 'mummy tracked').

Anyone else been in the same boat? Tell me it will all be fine!

I did exactly the same when my request for job share was turned down. I had a job share lined up as well.It was the best thing i ever did. Got two offers of jobs one of them p/t for a charity who then let me work from home when my dc2 came along. I was at that job 11 years while my dcs were growing up.
I hope it all goes well for you Grin
