How far back is it necessary to go when filling in information about previous employment? Is it my employer from 1981 really all that relevant? I seem to recall advice that it is only relevant to go back 10 years.

(Dreading being here all night trying to remember old salaries).

Thank you.

Old salaries NEVER go on a CV
Your CV is the list of people you worked for, what you did there and what your achievements were
what you were paid 15 years ago is irrelevant
but if you learned a skill 17 years ago that has stood you in good stead ever since the BIG IT UP

Unless it's relevant experience, one line for each employer (company name and job title) is fine.

Why do you need to remember your salaries? You should not put how much you earn on your CV.

This is an on-line form for old employers/reason for leaving/salary on leaving. I've put in the most recent employer plus salary. I have to keep clicking on an 'add another' button which brings up exactly the same boxes for each post I want to add.

put £1 and tell them not to be so darned nosy

Grin I would but I really, really want the job.

I'm going to put the reason for leaving and leave it at that.
