Does notice period change when you go from full to part time?

Any advise you can give me would be appreciated!

I returned to work after having DS1, but came back part time 3 days a week, although I'm still doing the same FT job (stupid of me - I know- but they wouldn't accept job share recommendations etc... and why would they as I ended up doing the job myself!).

I therefore now work the same job, for 3/5 of the salary, 3/5 of the bonus, 3/5 of the holidays etc etc.

However, I'm now about to resign for a REAL 3 day a week job, but I know I had a 3 month notice period on my full time contract.

I never got an updated contract, so does that mean I still have to give 3 months' notice, or is there somewhere that says I should also have 3/5 of 3 months' notice!

Thanks!

No - you should still give 3 months notice. However it is down to negotiations with you and your employer as to whether you have to work the full 3 months and you can mutually agree for it to be a shorter period.

Thank you Sam100!

I just did it, but they won't negotiate on the 3 months... maybe I should have negotiated before I resigned... oh dear...!
