do I need to inform anyone

I have made the big decision to give up work and become a SAHM (yippee)I know this sounds daft but I and was wondering do I need to inform the tax people that i'm stopping work, ta muchly

You may be able to get a small tax return if you have paid PAYE based on working a full year also if you are claiming child tax credits you will need to inform them that your situation has changed and this should be increased. I would also inform your contents/car insurers as you may get a discount off these with you being at home all the time and reduced mileage.

You should get a P45 from your last job, it will show amount earned before tax and tax paid. you might be owed money if your gross pay is not much more than your tax allowance.

Other than that I don't think there is anyone to inform although you may be elligibile for benefits.
