Is anybody a mystery shopper?

I'm looking into this just as a bit of extra/ discounts etc. There are so many sites that you can apply but I wanted an insight into the actual role and not the glorified advertising of 'get paid to shop'! I basically would like to know if it takes up a lot of your spare time, how much work is involved and how much you are offered and whether you can recommend an employer as a lot of the applications ask for your bank details immediately before you are accepted.

Thanks

I used to about 10 years ago. It was fine but didn't earn much from it. Got some free meals, free entry to a few places but also had to buy items I then had to return which is a bit of a hassle of you aren't in town regularly.

I enjoyed it but more for fun than money.

I have been one but I stopped because it ended up costing me money, tbh.

Its Ok, but you are only reimbursed for what you have spent really. DH and I have done it for about six years. We don't do them very often maybe four - five times a year each but that maybe due to were we live.

The types of places we go include - retail, pub meals, bowling, snooker halls but it is mainly pubs, can't knock some free pub grub though.

This is the company we do them for, they pay through bacs and we have always been paid within two days of returning questionnaire.

Hope that helps.
