dh is resigning

Probably the wrong thing to do but he's had enough and so have they.

I'm really hoping to go full time and for dh to be very p/t with a less stressful job, but wonder how we will cope. I can't take on a f/t job yet in case he suddenly gets another f/t job!

Anyone been in this position?

no. but it sounds like you may have a couple of screwed up months financially, so you should start looking for a full time job - if he is resigning anyway - and then he can work at tescos or sommat til he finds his ideal part time job

bump for you

you're right - if i start looking then it would take ages anyway before i actually get offered anything and have to accept or not.

yep we have.

Dh walked out on his job due to his boss giving him a rubbish reference which meant a job he was offered was taken back. I ended up going back full time and dh took a really low paid job to keep some money coming in for a couple of months - the couple of onths ended up being 9 months but he was a lot happier without the stress and upset and better hours.
He finished with that job and took another one in Sept that he wasn't very good at and they were going to sack him for not meeting targets but he found another job and asked them if they would accept his resignation on mutual terms wich they did and he is starting a new full time job on Monday next week which will hopefully be something he will settle in. As I am off work sick then on maternity I am lucky to stay on full pay until I am due to go back. we will need to think aboiut working patterns abit later on when I need to go back in November.

You need to notify working tax credits that he is not working so they may increase anything you get from them.
