Just got a new job, freaking out

Hi, i'm new to this but i have a bit of a question and i could really use some fresh eyes on it.
I just got accepted for an apprenticeship that will be 30 hours a week including weekends. I've found a nursery that says it's free most days my daughter will need the room. I don't have a start date or a shift pattern (which will be the same every week so i'll at least get saturdays off!) but i am totally mushed in the brain department over my rights.
I can't get paternal leave because it's a new job and obviously nurseries are closed bank holidays, will i have to book every single one off. My partner is not my daughters birth father but is hoping to adopt or become her step-father in coming years so he doesn't have a leg to stand on.

I just don't know how we're going to do this, i need a job. Not just because i miss being something more than home keeper and mother but we have some financial issues too, i know an apprenticeship is not the best way to solve this but it was the only interview i got.

If anyone knows if i can get help with childcare costs, any type of leave to look after my daughter when she's sick or flexible working hours i would love some advice!

Would you have to work on a bank holiday?

Why can't your partner look after her? I don't understand the problem there

I'm clueless about apprenticeships but wouldn't you get an annual leave entitlement? If so, you book time off to look after your daughter with that. Parental leave is just like having a tiny bit more annual leave, but it is unpaid and you still have to get permission from your employer to take it.

As far as flexible working hours go, you'd need to discuss this with your employers.
