Do you mean Cooperatives UK? AFAIK they promote coopertaives formed as Industrial and Provident Societies which compared to a Community Interest Company is an outdated and and generally unsuitable structure for a social enterprise IMHO - the link I gave to Business Link has a link to a comparison between the various structures.

We set up a workers co-op a few years as a CIC & it worked really well (apart from the not actually operating as a business thing Wink)
