Return to work on reduced hours how is my leave calculated

If I work Tuesday to Friday - ie 80% of full time - do I get 80% of my old leave entitlement - or 80% of 80% ?
Also what should happen re Bank holidays - do I just get 7 days a year less leave than my colleague doing Monday to Thursday ?

TIA

80% of leave and 80% of bank holidays. Mine is done in hours and in one 'pot' so I work out how many hours I need to book off bank hols then use the rest how I want.

So if they are saying it's 80% of 80% and nothing for bank holidays can I argue against it do you think ?
My 25 days have become 17 ... And no bank holidays

Yes you are entitle to BHs

sunnyday123 · 17/04/2012 20:31

you are entitled to pro rata bh. Do you work monday as it often disadvantages you in terms of bh?. For eg i used to work mon-wed so got 3/5ths of my previous leave and 3/5ths of bh on top. Given most bh fall monday, i ended up using leave to cover the extra 3. Now i work tue-thur i get the same leave plus bh but since few fall on bh i actually gain leave iyswim?

The easiest way is to put all the days together - so if ft get 25 plus 8 bank holidays, thats 33 days, 80% of which is 26.5. Then if you are due to work on a bank holiday, you have to book it as leave, and it will vary from year to year exactly how many 'bookable' days you get.

What everyone else says. If full time workers get X days plus X bank holidays you are entitled to 80% of what they get.

If they say you're not you could show them this

ah just seen that you dont work mondays - in which case def sort this out as i gain an extra week leave because of BH!! You should get 80% leave and 80% of the BH but any BH will have to be booked off. Given you dont work monday, its likely you will only book Good FRiday and any around Xmas and NY (this year non fell monday) - so in effect you get 4/5 of the BH (bout 6.5 days) on top of your leave which you will be able to have as extra leave!

Right thanks everyone that's promising - will see what they say when I challenge current allocation.
