I'm due to go back to work part time next week as my mat leave has come to an end.

I have reduced my hours vastly and I'm only working 12 hours a week so I'm home for the boys and as my dh works lots of hours.

Anyway, I'm pg! Employer doesn't know yet. I won't be earning the 102 pound a week to qualify for smp, does that mean I won't get any?

Looked on dwp website and couldn't find the answer. Any info much appreciated.

You may get MA.

Have a look in the direct gov website, it's really good and asks questions to give a personalised calendar and advice.

How many weeks gone are you? As far as I'm aware, you are entitled to SMP provided that you were in employment 15 weeks before the date on your MatB1 form.

You could always contact your HR department but I'm not sure if they will feel duty-bound to keep your line manager in the loop...

I'm not entitled to smp as I don't qualify through the earning rule. Because I won't be earning the lower limit threshold as I'm only doing a few hours at work when I go back. Even though I've been there seven years and worked ft and pt previously, I simply won't earn enough to qualify when I go back.

Have since found out that I'm entitled to maternity allowance though, which is the same pay as smp.

Thanks for your info girls Grin
