Does anyone know anything about privatisation?

Dh works for Royal Mail. He has been there many years but is fed up with the bullying and harassment he faces every morning.

He wants to look around for more work but a line manager told him he may do well out of privatisation so he is unsure if he should just stick it out for the time being.

Does anyone know if there is any truth in this?

Does his boss mean that there will be redundancies due to privitisation? When BR went private into Railtrack, the employees received shares, so perhaps this is what he meant?

He said that there were large payouts when British Rail was privatised.

I've read that collegues will recieve shares when it's part sold. Will these be worth waiting for do you think?

Dh works for royal mail and also has done for many years. He doesn't suffer bullying or anything it wouldn't be tolerated in his place.
At times he has thought about leaving but hasn't and the possibilities at privatisation are one of them.
The only problem really is how long is privatisation going to be? Tbh dh isn't desperate to get out and the benefits of staying are now starting to out weigh any benefits of leaving.
Does he have any health grounds they could medically retire him on?

Hi Ineedacleaner, he wouldn't be medically retired.

He used to love his job. But now he faces constant bullying every morning, with managers shouting and harassing all the delivery colleagues to absorb other deliveries and work over their time.

What does your dh see the benefits of staying are and what does he think of privatisation?
