My nephew is 22 and Has been working as a special for last 3 years. Approx 3 months ago he was accepted by the police (no applications were open in our area for the last 3 years, so he was thrilled). He had a brain tumour as a Child and has regular eye tests sent to the DVLA. In the last few weeks, he has failed his eye test (6 times) and had his driving licence revoked. He has an appointment with a consultant in a few weeks to see why his sight has deteriorated - he has nerve damage and blind spots.

He will call the police now he failed his final test today. He says he will lose his training place. Obviously we need to find out what's wrong with him, but is there any hope for him in the police force with sight problems? Would the police try and find him a different position? Poor lad needs a bit of hope! Thank you for any replies.
