Advice please-been in my current job for years and out of touch with how things work
3 weeks ago applied for new job. It was an online aplication -asked them to confirm receipt of application but heard nothing.
I match the person spec for this job pretty well- but I am sure there will be lots of others (many younger than me) who do also.
I really have no idea how long I should wait before giving up hope. I also am not sure whether they would contact only those selected for interview. At one time it was reasonably common to do that - but there was always a statement to that effect with the application form.
I'm not yet at the stage that I want to ring up or email and ask them -just looking for opinions at the moment.
