Quick question about resigning and claiming JSA/benefits

I'm seriously thinking of resigning from my job (that I hate) and retraining to become a teacher (which I am really passionate about).
Does anyone know if I would be entitled to claim job seekers allowance, bearing in mind that I would be resigning and not being made redundant?
Also, as a working mum I currently get working tax credit. Obviously if I am no longer working this will stop. Are there any other benefits that I could be entitled to whilst I am doing my training?
Thanks

won't be entitled for JSA for some time
training - look on TDA here: www.tda.gov.uk/get-into-teaching/teacher-training-options.aspx there are burseries etc
I would get a place on a course first then resign personally

No - you won't be a job seeker so you won't be available for work.
