I don't know if anyone has any thoughts on this....
My contract at work does not really state either way but I thought that generally you still accrued your holidays whilst you were on ML and that you could then tag them on to the end of your leave (if you wanted).
I get 20 days holiday per year and we do not need to actually accrue the days before we take a holiday. So, for example I could take 2 weeks holiday in February but I would not actually have accrued them as our holiday year runs Jan-Dec.
My questions are this:-
- My most recent wage slip says I have been paid for my holidays and work have not mentioned this at all and now I have been taxed. Is this usual?
- I am also confused as to why my SMP is more in January too? It has gone from £514.92 to £643.65.
- Another confusing thing is that it is 4.5 days they have paid me for, if anything I would have expected it to be 5 days.
- Can I claim the tax back?
