Extended probation period

I was due to be signed off my probation period when something daft went wrong and so it was extended for another month. The thing is it seems to be extending on and on and I have been asked to resign to save us all from the inevitable apparently. The thing is my work is actually very good, I've had a few admin issues which are not my fault at all but this manager just seems to like throwing his weight around from time to time.
I will not/cannot afford to resign.
Is asking me to constructive dismissal ?

Depends how long you've been there. If it's more than a year then yes it could be constructive dismissal. If less than a year, nothing you can do about it other than refuse and see whether they dismiss you or not, which they are allowed to do at that stage, unless there is discrimination involved. If it's less than a year it may well be an attempt to save you from having a dismissal on your record.

It is less than a year and it's not to do me any favours I can assure you.

So basically there's nothing I can do but sit tight it would seem ? There has been discrimination in the past but that stopped after I complained to HR.

If you think they don't want to actually dismiss you then yes sit tight and don't resign. If a dismissal was for discriminatory reasons that would be unfair from day one of employment though, so if they do dismiss you and you feel that's the case it would be worth at least appealing.

I would start looking for another job. Thngs are unLikely to suddenly resolve with your manager, and you are in a very vulnerable position.

I am on to that already and he knows it but equally he's been an arse for 8 months and I've gritted teeth and put up with it for the sake of my family so I half think another 4 months won't kill me and then the tide turns a bit.
