Hello, I am receiving maternity pay at the moment, but I am interested in doing some voluntary work for an another employer. would it effect my maternity pay?

Loads of people do stacks of voluntary work on maternity leave - can't see its a problem so long as no pay

Might depend on your contract though. I would check it if you work for a medium to large firm or corporate type. Some firms take any type of extra work as moonlighting and refuse to allow it. Ive worked for several that would expect to be asked and vet your extra work to ensure it fitted with their corporate vision of themselves. They can refuse it. Going against that could be a disciplinary action.

wish I were joking.....

this includes a friend who volunteered at help the aged. Our HR had to be told and vet that it didn't impact her work or her (for want of a better way to put it) ambassador ship of the firm because she was an employee.
