What do you tell them if you need to take time-off to interview for another job? (Given that you can't take annual leave like you would in virtually any other job).

I think you actually tell them its a job interview, and they have to give you the time off. Thats what my mate said when I asked her.

You are entitled to take time off for interviews. I don't see why management would want/need to share it with colleagues.

I think any management worth their salt would respect your wishes.
