I don't often post...but I'm very annoyed!

First work refuse my request to go part-time. Then, trying to work out my options finance have just told me that they won't work out how much maternity pay I'd have to pay back ouT don't go back as it's "very complicated"! Well how am I meant to make a decision if I don't know the financial implications....

Grrrr. Any advice?

I would work out the worst case scenario for Mat pay - you never have to pay back SMP, you can only be asked to repay any extra they give you on top of this.

Have you submitted a formal request to change your hours? I would start there. They are not obliged to let you change your hours but they must offer you your original job back (or a suitable alternative)
