Well, I've been a SAHM for over 6 years (boys are 4 and 6), but am starting back at a job tomorrow. It's a fairly basic part-time admin job, so shouldn't be too taxing, but will have to start to get my head round all these 'juggling/balancing' tricks you all do, that so far I've avoided. Will I have to do my cleaning in the evenings, instead of being on mumsnet?

I am very excited really

Oh congrats and good luck, kmg1! You'll enjoy getting back into it, I think. You can do your cleaning in the evenings, and be on mumsnet at work

Kmg1, good luck! Just don't try to do everything, it's not possible IME anyway (i.e I tried to get the washing up done before I left for work and it just stressed me out). Enjoy!

Oooh good for you!
Watch out for the minefield of office politics...and the spotty coffee machine nerd.
Good luck.

Good luck kmg1 - it is an exciting thing to do and you seem to be looking forwadr to it which is great - the juggling act will always be an issue but try to enjoy trying something different.

A change is as good as a .......

Lots of luck, kmg! Hope you enjoy it. How many days/hours will you be doing? How will you manage school hols?

You can get a cleaner now, and keep your evenings for you.

GOOD LUCK! How was your first day?

kmg1 · 18/11/2003 14:33

Thank you all for your good wishes. First day went really well - a bit overwhelming being the new girl and not knowing anything, but I'm sure that will pass.

I'm just doing 20 hrs - 2 full, 2 half days, and it's just a temporary contract covering a sick leave for 3 or 4 months. So between us we (dh & I) can juggle the holidays.

Good luck with your applics SueW!
