Wage help....

I am currently working on a xmas temp contract and am paid weekly in cash.

My contract hours were 16 but my contract was extended four weeks and put down to four.

I collected my wages on Friday and they had put through 4 hours instead of 16 and 6 hours overtime.

The manager told me i would have to wait this week for 'an advance' which it wasn;t as they had made the mistake..and i was due all the hours. Anyway he rang the head office who said i could have 60% of the 'advance' which i refused as i worked 22.45 hours the previous weeka nd needed that money as my parther has been unfairly dismissed and we have NO money whatever i get is for food and electric that week. So he agreed to pay me what i should of recieved that day.

He took the money from petty cash but i have now realised that they will be adding the underpayment (at head ofice wages) onto last weeks hours worked which means i will be unfairly taxed. As it will be over the level for no tax.

Surely though i shouldnt have to pay this and it is up to wages to sort that out with my managers..i really cannot afford to lose ANY money....

What do i do???

Not sure but I would have thought they'd have to correct it and not have you suffer as it's their mistake. I know if my old company paid late or something and you got charged at your bank because of insuffient funds, they'd have to pay the charges!

Hope someone can tell you for sure soon!
