Hi there

I'm going back to work having seen my DB settled into seconary school. I am interested in something like working in a school as a Teaching Assistant but have never worked with children apart from my own..lol
I've no experience in a primary school or anything like that but I've applied for a job as a Play Worker to get some experience.
I am stuck as to what to put on the Personal Statement part on the application form when the only experience I have is in Sales and Finance. Does anybody here work as a Play Worker? I am friendly and approachable with bags of patience which i think is a good start..lol Any advise is so appreciated.

Have you ever volunteered with Scouts or Guides as that would be really good experience. Playwork can be very rewarding especially when the children trust you and you get to do fun things with the children like den building, playing games, cooking, ict among a host of other things. Do you enjoy crafts as that is another popular activity in that age range.
I think the best thing to do is to be enthusiastic and research the role in advance. There is usually training available at a minimum of level 2 and first aid training as well for designated staff.
Good luck with your application.
BTW I'm a childminder interested in playwork plus have years of experience with Cub Scouts.
