Am I being over sensitive?

Hi everyone
I've been back at work FT for a month- went straight from mat leave to FT. I'm not finding it great and feel like a lot of things I was working on have been passed over to other people.
Anyway- one of the things that is beginning to get to me is that the person who did my mat cover has been kept on for a different job in the same department. Anyway, my boss keeps wanting to bring him in to meetings and asking him his opinion on my team. This is getting to me because I have done the role for 4 years and he did it for 6 months.
Anyway I don't know how to approach my boss. I've already brought it up and she didn't seem to really acknowledge what I was saying. I don't want to come across as over sensitive but am feeling like my opinion isn't considered as valid as his.
His role is going to an area that was originally something I worked on and I saw it as an area for development. Anyway going on mat leave but that option out.

It just seems that despite my being more qualified, more experienced and having longer service I'm just not being given a chance to be developed. My role has also been dumbed down whilst I've been away and it's just all bringing me down a bit.

Okay rant over- thanks for reading and any tips :)

Maybe the Mat leaver cover person is still being involved because they know what has been happening whilst you were away?

I think you may be being a bit sensitive and should concentrate on getting back into it 100% with the roles you have in place, wait it out for 3 months and then ask for a review/meeting and take your job description with you.
