Fit note dates, when do I go back?

Have been signed off work for ten days because I am pregnant and there is an outbreak of an infectious disease which is dangerous to pregnant women at the school I work at.

The dates on the note are from 31.1 to 10.2 - do I go to work on the 10th or is the 10th included in my 'sick' leave?

Go back on the 11th.

Well, in the ordinary scheme of things you'd go back on the 11th.

However - you shouldn't be signed off with a fit note because you are perfectly fit to work. You're not sick. This is a H&S issue to me - you can't go into work because the working environment at the moment presents a danger to your health. I think your employer should just be telling you to take paid leave until they can assure you that the workplace is safe again.

Even if the doctor's note runs out on 10th, you shouldn't go in unless you've been told it's safe to do so.
