Hi, can anyone help please? I am currently working Tues-Friday and am contracted to work for these days, however, due to extra work, they asked me if I could work overtime (and obviously claim for this) on the Monday. I want to stop doing this now and wondered if I could just stop at any time or if I'm obligated in any way - would give them a month's notice...thanks!

IME from a busienss managers veiw, best approach would be to explain that you know OT it has helped them and you are happy to continue doing this for another month but after that you will be returning to your "normal Tue-Friday woking hours. This will show your are firm in your decision whilst being respectful.

Thanks, Paganie, good advice... will do that. It seems a bit formal to write a letter, would it be okay to just tell them verbally IYO? I work in a school, by the way. Thanks.

I would always advocate the verbal approach and maybe ask if they want this confirmed in writing before you do so.

Thanks so much, Paganie. Smile
