If i work full time and am i single mother and earn 15k per annum would i be able to apply for housing benefit and how much help could they offer? I have called and asked the Council however they are not very helpful and just keep telling me they cant tell me until i apply. The problem is i am looking to move out and rent on my own and need to budget!

Please help!

I was earning 14k and my rent is £950 per month, I think in the end I had to pay around £500-£600 per month and they paid the rest, but i was getting some tax credits too.

But no they will never tell you how much help you will get and are very unhelpful Sad
