Possibly going off sick at 29 weeks....

Hi. Am 29 weeks pregnant & Not sure how much longer I'll be able to work, could barely walk today. Am composing my letter over the w'end re when am starting Mat Leave (handed in my Mat B1 before C'mas & got my letter re terms etc yesterday!!!). I'll be starting Mat leave 02/04/2012, going straight to SMP as that's all we get where I work. Terrified I'll be advised to stop working sooner than that though & really cant afford it. Can. Be i forced to go Mat leave before 02/04/2012. Do intend to take 2/52 AL prior to 02/04/2012 so I'm hoping to be there till 37 weeks.

If you're off sick with a pregnancy-related condition they can force you to start mat leave at 36 weeks, but no sooner.

I was off work from about 26 weeks due to major SPD and being on crutches it was impossible to do my job with being on crutches. My work were fine and I think I started may leave about 36 weeks.
