Does anyone have a good desk chair they'd recommend?

Our desk chair is an almost 20-yr old Ikea one, and now I'm here at the computer every day, and getting increasingly grumbly of back, I really need to invest in a new one I think!!

Happy to spend £100 or so but it's got to be comfy, good for lower back pain, and not too big! Oh, and not look too "corporate" IYSWIM - what with this also being my dining room!

Anyone got any recommendations?!

My recommendation would be the Boss Key Chair. It is probably going to be too expensive if you are looking around the £100 mark, but I basically saw it as an investment and one of the tools I need to do my job (the other being the computer). I decided to pay out for something that would last and be really kind to my back. I have loved it since the moment it arrived and it is very comfortable and manoeuvrable. Possibly a bit big if it's for your dining room? But they do other chairs and it might be worth checking out the website. The sales service was excellent and they are not a big corporate company - nice people to deal with. And [shallow emoticon] you can pick from a HUGE variety of colours. :-)

Thanks Wordweaver. By this stage I just want a good chair - I think the one I sit on every day now was £20 from Ikea in 1999 so no wonder my back is shot to pieces.

I've found the Key for £202 online, so maybe I will go for it! Just need to note the measurements and see how big it is.

mine was "acquired" many years ago and is an air traffic controllers chair
the gas lift is starting to go
as I work at my puter I'll budget £200 to get a really good replacement
