At present I work on a casual basis for the council in the library service, as I am casual I don't work if they don't have anuthing for me to do but have been doing 3 days a week for the last few months and a couple of people are talking about voluntary redundency which means there may be permanant jobs coming up but these may alos be filled by others being made redundent in the library service. If I just had this then there would be no dilema, but I have just started a job 7 hours a week in the prison library which is permanent. I got the job in October but due to checks have only just started. The pay for both is not great and I seem to be working and treading water as far as keeping heads above water financially. OUr other business is a B&B and while bookings are coming in, nothing is guranteed.
There is a job advertised in the accounts department, either someone who has qualifications or willing to train. I have started doing qualifications over the last year and have been doing the books for our own business and my mother's, so although not big I do have an idea. The pay is better, starts at 15,500 and goes up and states that as progress through training etc amount goes up.
I want to go for it but feeling really guilty about the prison job, but it would take some pressure of us financially, alot actually, and we could cut down on B&B as DH also has work elsewhere lined up and DCs would benefit.
It is a no brainer to apply isn't it but the guilt?
