So how do I chose an accountant?

I just did my first year of self assessment online and it seemed easy enough when I took the HMRC seminar and I have a tiny turnover so wasn't worried but now I am not sure I did it right (although I owe no tax and am getting no money back).

I would love to find someone to look over this year's (is that possible, as I've already submitted it) and to do it going forward as, honestly, who needs this stress??!

So how do I figure out which one to hire?

Do you know anyone who uses an accountant? Personal recommendations are the best, I feel.

I don't know any other self employed people, actually. But that's a good idea, I'll have a think.
