I have to return to work full time by the end of the month and have starting taking my DD (6 months) to the childminder on a part time bases. The first day I dropped her off and spent the few hours counting the seconds until I fetch her again. I couldn't concentrate on anything else. DD doesn't do change of environment nor strangers very well. Yesterday she was teary when I picked her up and this morning she cried when I left, like she's finally realised what's happening. I feel so guilty and sad :(

I've no time to write much, but oh I remember those days so well, having gone back when DD was 6 months.

It WILL get better. It WILL.

It will be fine! It is hard initially but you do get used to it. The key thing to be happy with the childcare that you have selected. My dd went to nursery at 5 months old. She now a happy, confident nearly 8 yo who is good at making friends and doing well at school.

I promise it does. I've done it with 3 and after a month they settle and you find your groove again with work. You then hit all the bugs they get from nursery but you will get there - pinky promise.
