Where to start?

I'm just thinking about setting up on my own think I've got a good idea but where do I go next?

Hi,

Depends. Do you need finance? Are you going to do "it" full time or part-time/as additional income?

I would start with a plan:

• what is it?
• is there demand/ a need?
• what are competitors offering? How can you differ?
• how will you produce/deliver it (if a service)?
• what will it cost?
• therefore what will you charge?
• how will you find time to do it?
• if you need premises/equipment - cost, storage
• sales predicitions
• based on the above can you afford to do it?

If it is a goer then start on developing the idea. If you need finance you'll need a proper business plan etc.
