do recruiters really read through uploaded cvs on websites?

it's taking so long to trawl through so many websites!

yes - especially on employer ones. It saves loads on recruitment agency fees and so is always our first port of call.

But - just be warned because of Data Protection Issues many companies (including the one I work for) delete all CVs after 6 months.

So never assume that the employer still has your CV if you uploaded it more than 6 months ago.

Just to be clear - My company is a little over the top in its compliance to Data Protection laws. So it will always err on the side of caution. So 6 months is probably over the top cautious.

Its just a warning not to assume that you are already on a companies radar because you submitted your CV ages ago.

Was rather surprised when someone from HR where I now work invited me in for interview after seeing my CV on a recruitment site for my sector. I'd expected rather more of a slog to get my details out there...
