I'm lucky to have a job - right?

My paydate is the 2nd of the month, here we are on the 4th and I had to remind my boss to pay myself and the rest of the staff - apparently she forgot. I find it odd enough that we have a paydate of the 2nd of the month - always been last day or first day of month at any previous employment. I don't live hand to mouth, but I am fed up with checking my bank account every month to see if she actually can be bothered to pay me on time otherwise I have to transfer money from my savings ac to cover the delay. :-(

Bearing in mind this is also the Christmas pay and the staff don't even get a christmas card from her let alone a bonus, bottle of wine or evening out. We all have lots of expense to cover in Dec and don't need to be waiting for our salaries.

Been there 2.5 years and not even had a review, yet alone a pay rise. Extra hours worked which should be given as lieu time, gets "forgotten" too.

Lots of other "minor" issues too. It's a small franchised business, one owner and 3 part time staff. I know there aren't cashflow issues.

Is she a working mum?

Yes, she is although she only has one child still at secondary school, the other child is working age.

All the staff are working Mums though.

Get another job while you still are in employment so you can (hopefully) get a reference. Regular late paying of staff is not a good sign of a healthy well managed business.
