Waiting for 6 weeks now for a Back to Work Interview. Bloody Cheesed off!

I e-mailed my HR in Sep explaining I wanted to come back to work in Jan, can I arrange a BTWI as I need to find out my options (work hours need to be changed), and have to give 4 weeks notice to return.

She said I needed to arrange meeting through my Manager.

Went in to see Manager - not met before, she's new. She was v busy so took my name and number and said sh'e call me. This was in November.

She hasn't called. I phoned HR 4 weeks ago and explained again I wanted to arrange meeting etc, she said she'd get onto it and be in touch. She hasn't.

What am I supposed to do? Bloody big international company and I've worked for them for over 6 years.

Have you written/emailed your manager and copied HR? I'd write with your proposed return date and work pattern then follow up with another call.

Two things

Check your flexible working policy and put together your request as per the policy, then submit it to whoever, probably your manager copying HR.

Don't chase HR to chase your manager, cut out the middle man and chase your manager yourself. Yes HR seem to be a bit rubbish, but if they're rubbish don't rely on them to chase other people for you. If your manager said in November she'd ring you back and she didn't, ring her back instead. Weekly until you have your meeting.

What's bugging me is that she is a new Manager who I have never worked for before and of the 12 staff who were there when I went on maternity leave, only 2 remain from the original line up - because the others have left because of the Manager! Smoe of the girls who have left have been there years.

I just feel she's having a cull and wants new staff and doesn't want me back! And feel really awkward about chasing her up.
