Where can we find finance to set up DP in landscape business?

My DP works in landscape construction but wants to set up on his own. The only problem is finding the money to set him up with the equipment. We only rent so we cant secure a loan and he is on a low income at the moment so a personal loan is out of the question.

Is there anything out there like Princes Trust to help set people up in business? Can anyone recommend any schemes to help us please?

the ONLY way he'll make a go of it is to start small with a few second hand tools and build up
nobody is going to lend money in the current market to a business that is providing an optional extra in a crowded business market

does he have enough clients that he would be able to make a living from the word go - and poaching them from his current employer is NOT an option - there WILL be a clause in his contract about it

sorry to sound negative but he'll have to get started and then get a loan or support to expand - that is where the money is now

In our area, any funding for any type of business ran out in March 2011 and there is no sign of anymore. We are in the same situation but have decided to start our training company on a smaller scale and just let it build up, which hopefully it will

Dh is looking at setting up in similar business. We've not found any support for going self-employed.
He's looking at working it initially alongside another job( has 3 currently!) is that an option?

there is NO support for those who do not make their own support
trst me, once the plunge has been taken, there is support out there
but you have to be brave first
