Hi there I have been back to work since the end of october and have had a hell of a time, ( I was on maternity leave ) to the point I have been signed off work till 3rd Jan due to stress related ilness, I work for a large company who like most have had loads of redundacys and the work load is huge ( was in first place but has more than doubled ) as it winter and our dead period we always finish early and just do our contracted hours summer we do over hours but we have an interuim manager who has now taken everything in house and we are now doing loads of functions which runs into the night, I cant get child care for night time as my OH works nights I have asked for flexi time but have been turned down due to business needs, anyway I cant stay there, I have been looking but I want to stay at home with my little man I will never get these years back and dont want to miss them, my OH is only on 26hour a week and brings home under 200 a week does anyone have any advice on benifits and help we can get, I have been looking but cant make head or tail of it! Please help fill like hiting a brick wall I have cut back anyway on household stuff cause my pay is not that good. Thanks

I'm sorry, I appreciate you are stressed but I don't think you can give up work altogether in the position you and your OH are in. Keep looking for another job, honestly, many of us have been in stressful jobs and if you get a new job that can be the cure, rather than giving up entirely.

Book an extended benefits appointment with your local CAB. It's a tricky one. Unfortunately they might advise that your dp gives up his job instead if you are the breadwinner
