Those who follow this thread regularly will know that I have been battling to receive my maternity pay. HMRC have been getting heavy with my employer. Employer now says they will pay me next month, finally. Last week they said it was not smp but a commercial payment. This week (after more HMRC intervention) they said it is not a commercial payment, but actual smp, but they still don't accept liability.
HMRC have told them they can't do this so it's still ongoing but I know it'll be sorted eventually.
Here's my question. I said I'd also like to claim for the overdraft charges (I've been overdrawn since June as a result of their non-payment) and for the ante-natal appointment time off I invoiced for (not that much.
They have responded that they will not pay me for these expenses and will not accept any more requests.
Is this because they know that paying my overdraft charges will be an indication of liability?
