Parents' representative at the nursery

I volunteered to be the parents representative at the nursery. This means going to the quarterly meetings. The nursery a very laid back about the organisation and have put a suggestions box just outside the nursery for parents to leave anonymous suggestions in which only I shall see.

The first meeting I am attending is at the end of the week and so far there are no suggestions. What do you think I should do as far as representing the parents? Should I issue minutes to the other parents? How should I do this (don't even know who they are!). I am wary of coming over all corporate with the nursery staff iyswim!

Is there somewhere you could put a notice up, asking parents to contact you if they have issues (via phone, e-mail)? They may not want to be seen using box in case there is only one complaint and people will know who made it IYSWIM.

Instead of distributing minutes you could just put any relevant stuff on the notice board. IME parents aren't always bothered about what goes on behind the scenes & making lots of copies could be a waste of time and paper. However it is good to get involved and I personally have enjoyed a similar role.

I like the notice up for other parents idea that Coppertop has suggested.

If I knew who my parents rep was I would be lobbying them about the food (too many chicken nuggets and spaghetti)
