Advice Needed

I have previously sought advice on MN re our intended move out of London and received some invaluable advice. I am therefore back for some more help.

By way of background we have two sons under the age of five. I am returning to full time work in January and we hope to have moved (latest) August 2012. I currently have family close by who help with child care for which I am very grateful. This will not necessarily be available when we move and I wondered how other full time working mothers/fathers deal with emergency sick days and/or having to leave work early to cover such emergencies.

I will continue to work in London (as will my husband). The intention is to live in Essex.

Many thanks in advance.

Help

You use up annual leave, you take off unpaid leave. You build up hours if there is a flexi-system. If you are lucky enough to have a job you do at home you wait until the kids are in bed at night and you do some work then. If you have a boss who doesn't have a family then you are scowled at and you don't move up the career ladder ever again Wink. But family come first.

I have no family near us and somehow we juggle it. Badly at times.

My eldest is now at school and there are couple of mums who have taken him to school when my younger one has been ill ( he has had health issues so we have really struggled at times).

Pancake thank you for replying. I am nervous that people will think I am being a slacker or taking piss but you are spot on when you say family come first.
