Can I return on SML on SMP after having already returned to work?

Ok, so this is most likely a silly question, but I'll ask it anyway... Can I go back on maternity leave after having already returned to work after SML? If so, can I still receive SMP?

The answers no. I wanted to go back to use up AL leave go back to SMP but couldn't.

That's what I thought:(... Hm, I've used my AL that I had acrued during ML and was due to go back to work today. However, I only just found out on Saturday, that my childcare arrangements got cancelled (talk about stress!!) and therefore I will not be able to return to work.

I went to the office anyway and briefly explained the situation to my manager and I will have a meeting with HR later today to see what I could do.. If I take unpaid leave, does anyone know if I can work for another employer...?

Basically it is a very complicated situation, as my current employer cannot offer the kind of hours I could do, but my company has a relationship with another company, where I could do more suitable hours...

Hm, just realised that the answer to my question probably is "depends on your contract"... Will have to look see...

You can take some parental leave if your employer agrees.

Answer is indeed depends on your contract though will probably state you can't work for other people without permission.
