Job Application

I am in the process of applying for a part time job at my local school (along with 100's of other mums!!) but it has been a very long time since I filled an application form in and am struggling with the 'Supporting Statement'. To be honest I don't think I will even get short-listed but how on earth do I 'sell myself' after being a SAHM for the last couple of years?? The only things that I can think of are that I have been doing some legal secretarial work from home and can decorate cakes!!! Not sure that this really counts!!!! Any advice much appreciated.

Transferrable skills - what about those two things (or anything else you have done in the meantime) could you use in the role you are applying for ? Also motivation - why do you want this job (or not return to legal workl for example) and how might it develop you.

Good organisational skills, good time management skills, good interpersonal communication, computer literate, team worker?

Tks for your help - finally finished filling the form in and have handed in it. Don't realistically expect to get short-listed, but at least I have tried! :)

Good Luck, you never know, try and stay positive, there might be something in your application and now you have done your 1st others should become easier.
