Work from home taking calls rather than making them?

All the work from home schemes I have found are making cold calls or catalogue distribution neither of which would be suitable for me.

My background is customer service based, Hotel reception and clothing/make-up/skincare retail.

Has anyone heard of a work from home scheme where you are taking calls and helping people rather than calling them which could annoy them?

Only ones I've heard of are, um, let's just say "premium rate" phone lines.

Could you set up your own business as an out-of-office answering service?

The latter is a good idea Harriet :)

Virtual PA could be quite interesting, will do some research on that too.
