DH is an EMT3 on a 3yr student paramedic contract. He is due to take his gateway exams in Jan and was supposed to starting his paramedic course in Feb. His tutor group along with about 6 others have been told that their course are being postponed. They've had letters saying they've got new course start dates and that the LAS is 'committed' to them completing their training and getting permanent roles. But some of the more experienced staff think something funny is going on and that the students affected are going to get screwed over. The suspicion seems to be that they'll keep them on over the olympics and then come Sept/Oct announce they haven't got the money to complete their training (even though they were giving the funding to complete the training 3 yrs ago) and sack them all. The particularly weird thing is that tutor groups further behind the ones affected are still going to start their paramedic courses as planned.
Anybody know anything? TIA
