Any tips on working out maternity pay?

Is there a pattern to it?

As a nanny I've asked my employers to let me know what nannytax/the accountant says about my pay for nov, dec, jan & feb and they haven't been able to let me know.

The only figure I've had is my main employer for november, which is £50 less than what I worked it out to.

Is there a pattern? I've worked it out day-by-day - i.e. for 3 days in november I'll get 90% and for all of december is x many days by 90% and then x days at SMP.

If that makes sense.

It's 6 weeks at 90% of your salary or the basic rate of SMP whichever is higher then the basic rate of SMP for another the remainder.

If you work full time (5 days) I'd take that to be 30 days at higher rate then rest at lower. However you had to split that to fit your wage cut offs you will know.

Thanks - I get 6 weeks @ 90% and then go onto SMP but trying to work it out so I can budget and my figures don't match the figure I've been given i just wondered how payroll would work it out - on a day by day basis then my numbers would be right but the first I've compared it isn't matching.
